Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas has topped the U.S. singles chart for the third year in a row, becoming the first song in history to top the Billboard Hot 100 three times.

All I Want For Christmas is the first song to top the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Charts on three separate occasions while dropping off the charts between each.

The iconic Christmas song hit the Top 10 on the Hot 100 in December 2017, becoming number one again in 2019 and returning to the charts just before Christmas last year.

The hit song released in 1994 now tops both the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts. Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” tops the Billboard Global 200, with 81.2 million streams and 14,800 sold (up 6% in each metric) worldwide between Dec. 10-16.

This is the song’s sixth week on the chart. It has drawn in massive numbers, receiving 37.6 million U.S. streams (a 16% increase) and 26.1 million radio airplay audience impressions (a 7% increase) and selling 7,400 downloads, also a 7% increase.

The song has had 4.3 billion radio plays, 1.4 billion streaming, and 3.7 million download sales since its 1994 debut.

Mariah Carey appears on the cover of NME this week discussing her new Christmas special, Mariah’s Christmas: The Magic Continues. The singer collaborates with Khalid and Kirk Franklin for the first performance of their new single Fall In Love At Christmas, released on December 3 via Apple TV+. The special narrated by Tiffany Haddish also features guest stars including Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, and Snoop Dogg.

The new Christmas special comes in light of Carey’s original collaboration with Apple TV+ Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special, which launched in 2020.
