The Facebook Chief Executive Officer, Mark Zuckerberg, is fighting back against the demand for him to step down as chairman. Zuckerberg made the comments of not stepping down in a recent interview with CNN.

According to Facebook’s latest proxy, Zuckerberg share of the voting power amongst Facebook investors was 59.9%, meaning shareholders can’t force him out of the CEO position.

Although,  Zuckerberg and Sheryl  Sandberg, Cheif Operating Officer, have come under fire for Facebook’s slow response to uncovering evidence of Russian manipulation during the U.S. presidential election in 2016. They have also faced scrutiny for Facebook’s privacy practices and its role in inflaming violence in countries like Myanmar.

Facebook was launched on the 4th of February,2004 as an online social media and social networking service. The company is based in Menlo Park, California.
