2023 has been quite a year concerning films, music, arts and culture, awards shows and we’re just three months in. Over the last months and even last year, celebrities have been teasing their upcoming album releases through social media, interviews, and indirect remarks.

While some feel like a dream as they’re based on hope and not facts – que Rihanna and Cardi B.

Ahead, check out some of the most anticipated album releases to look forward to in 2023;

Tems
Last year, the Grammy and Oscar nominated singer Tems, assured a fan on Twitter of new music, after she was called out on the platform for pushing back the album release date.
The tweet read: “@temsbaby promised us an album this year but as we no come hear anything like dis nko?” the fan wrote on Nov. 19, 2022 to which Tems replied, “Next Year!”
The “Next Year” is here already and we’re three months deep in it but we’ve still not heard any news from Tems or her team regarding the album.

Meanwhile, Tems is on her way to stardom as her feature with Drake and Future on “Wait For You” earned her a Grammy award for Melodic Rap Performance. Joining Sade Adu, a Nigerian-British singer as the only Nigerian female acts to have won a Grammy. Sade Adu won the Grammy award for Best New Artist in 1986.

Tems’s exceptional contribution as a songwriter in Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up” for Marvel’s ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ was nominated for Best Original Song at the Oscars 2023, but sadly didn’t win.

Chlöe
Arguably the most anticipated album release of 2023, Chloé Bailey has been teasing her debut solo album for years and it is finally set to be released on March 31, 2023.
Chlöe, in preparation for her album release, has revealed the album cover of her album. Speaking on the inspiration for the cover she said, “I saw a photo of a porcelain doll 3 years ago, holding her heart just like this and from then, I said this will be my album cover… that same day I also wrote heart on my sleeve,”.
“The beginning of a scary and exciting journey for me. This cover represents so much for me, down to the color of my hair. When I had red hair 1.5 years ago, it was one of the darkest times in my life. That’s why I never wore it again.”

Chlöe has already released two songs from the album, “Pray it Away” and “How Does It Feel”, a controversial collaboration with Chris Brown.

Cardi B
It has been five years since Cardi B dropped her debut album ‘Invasion of Privacy’, and while she has dropped singles and features consistently, launched a clothing line in collaboration with Fashion Nova and birthed two babies, Cardi B has done everything but release a new album.

Yet, she steadily teases her fans with videos and little hints here and there about the album being in the works.
On October 28, 2021, a soundless video was posted on a Cardi B fan account. The video featured several music executives giving Cardi’s new music a listen.
