Mr Ibu’s Message To Rude Boy Before His Death
A video of the late Nigerian actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, has surfaced online.
In the clip that trended on Monday, Mr Ibu was seen appreciating and praying for Rudeboy, one of the famous P-Square twin brothers.
“Rudeboy I don’t know where to start my language, but when the time comes…if you no go heaven, call me Nama, (Meat in Hausa). You go go heaven and sit down in the presence of the angels, and eat together. Your life will never remain the same.”
Mr Ibu, who died on March 2, thanked Rudeboy for standing by him when he was sick.
“What people would be talking about today is, how come, how come? Ibu and P-square, they are not the same parents, but I tell you Parents don’t come,” the late actor said in the footage.
The now-viral video was said to have been recorded a few hours before his death.
Mr Ibu’s death was confirmed by Emeka Rollas, the current president of the Actors Guild in Nigeria.
Nigerian President Bola Tinubu described his death as a big loss.
A statement from the presidency reads: “The President also commiserates with the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) and the entire creative community, assuring them of his support, thoughts, and prayers in this time of grief. President Tinubu prays for the peaceful repose of the souls of the departed and comfort for all those in mourning.”
