Singer, actor, and politician, Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has announced the completion of his Master’s degree in Policy Management from Georgetown University, Washington D.C.

He shared the news on Tuesday via his Instagram page, reflecting on the journey of balancing fatherhood, academics, and public service in the United States.

“I am thankful to share that I have just earned my Master’s degree in Policy Management (some institutions call it an MPA — Master’s of Public Administration),” he wrote.

Banky W revealed that while pursuing his degree, he and his wife welcomed their second son, Hezekiah Oluwadarasimi Wellington, in the middle of the academic session.

He described the experience as exhausting but fulfilling.

“Parenting two children in the US, while earning a full-time Master’s and serving as a Fellow on Capitol Hill all at the same time was completely exhausting, but by the grace of God, the strength of faith and the support of family and friends, we did it.”

The father of two also shared a note on faith, personal growth, and the power of reflection, saying the last few years had been a season of stretching and learning for him and his family.

“What many may see as the finish line of a journey can become the starting point of the next chapter of your story.”

“You can’t pour from an empty cup, and so sometimes, it is necessary to step off the dance floor and onto the balcony… to reflect on how far you have come, who you are, and who you would like to become.”

He ended his post with a message of hope to anyone feeling stuck or discouraged, reminding them that it’s never too late to start again.

Banky W, who once contested for a seat in the House of Representatives under the PDP, continues to inspire fans with his multidimensional career across music, film, politics, and public policy.
