Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has confirmed that he and his wife Chioma Avril Rowland will hold their white wedding in Miami, Florida this August 2025.

The “Be There Still” singer made the announcement during an interview on The Breakfast Club, which aired on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

According to the 32-year-old music star, the white wedding will follow their traditional marriage, which took place in Nigeria (WHEN) and was widely celebrated across the country.

“I’m doing my white wedding in Miami in August. The wedding I did was traditional, it was like a carnival in Nigeria, like a holiday. The whole world stood still,” he said.

Davido explained that the ceremony will be more intimate compared to what Nigerians are used to, as he spoke about the cultural differences between African and Western marriage traditions.

“Back home, the culture in some households is, for example, a lot of men grew up with their mum so she’s everything… So anything the husband does right or wrong, she’s supporting the husband.”

He also reflected on his past struggles and how the upcoming wedding is a moment of redemption for him and Chioma.

“Me and my wife’s relationship was in the public eye, especially after I did that one song… Even apart from losing our child, I messed up a lot of times so that full circle moment everyone was like finally she can get what she deserves.”

The Grammy-nominated singer praised Chioma for keeping her life private despite all the attention and challenges they have faced.

“My wife, you can never see her go to any interview or take a phone to say ‘oh, my husband did this’ or see her go on live — like the normal things. And I appreciate her for that because she could.”

Davido added that no relationship is perfect, but he is committed to making things right.

Davido and Chioma first gained public attention in 2018 and have since become one of Nigeria’s most talked-about celebrity couples.
