Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has made history as the first artist to score a No.1 song in Nigeria for six consecutive years.
The feat was announced on Tuesday by TurnTable Charts.
According to the publication, Davido’s latest single, “With You” featuring Omah Lay, climbed to the top of the TurnTable Top 100, marking his first No.1 of 2025 and his 11th career chart-topper.
The song is from Davido’s newly released fifth album “5ive”, which has already delivered three No.1 hits, including “Awuke “featuring YG Marley and “Funds” featuring Odumodublvck and Chike.
Davido first topped the TurnTable chart in 2020 with the hit single “FEM” and has since maintained dominance every year, a streak no other Nigerian artist has achieved.
Reacting to the milestone, Davido reposted the TurnTable announcement with a caption: “History again! We global, no stopping!”
The 5-time Grammy nominee, who has shaped Afrobeats for over a decade with chart-bursting hits, is gearing up for his “5 Alive “world tour.
The tour will see Davido perform at 13 major venues, including the 60,000-capacity Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, alongside American music legends 50 Cent and Mary J. Blige.
He is also scheduled for two stops in Canada at the Scotia Bank Arena and Place Bell, before moving across the United States with performances at iconic venues like State Farm Arena in Atlanta and Barclays Center in Texas.
The “5 Alive” tour will feature a collection of Davido’s latest hits, alongside fan favourites that have earned him global recognition.
