The journey of fast-rising entertainment duo, DJ Dewik and Hypeman Best, is emerging as a powerful example of how talent discovery, strategic mentorship, and consistent investment can transform promising performers into standout live acts.

As Soundcity On Tour 2026 continues its nationwide campus tour, the story of the two young entertainers is drawing attention not only for their growing success but also for what it reveals about talent development within Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

Their partnership began during the maiden edition of Soundcity On Tour in 2023, when they performed together for the first time. Although the collaboration was still new and largely untested, their stage chemistry immediately stood out, earning the attention of industry stakeholders present at the event.

Among those impressed was Soundcity On Tour Executive Producer, Adedeji Adeniji, who reportedly recognised the duo’s potential long before they became regular fixtures on major stages.

Following that breakthrough performance, TASH Studios NG took a deliberate interest in their development. Rather than viewing the pair as finished products, the creative studio committed to nurturing their talents through exposure, mentorship, and performance opportunities across Nigeria.

Over the next two years, DJ Dewik and Hypeman Best appeared at events of varying scales, refining their craft and gaining valuable experience in front of diverse audiences. The strategy, according to industry observers, was designed to accelerate their growth while challenging them to adapt to different performance environments.

The approach highlights a broader issue in Nigeria’s creative sector: many emerging talents often struggle to access the support systems needed to sustain long-term growth. While the country continues to produce an abundance of creative talent, opportunities for structured development remain limited.

Industry analysts note that many promising entertainers generate early excitement but fail to reach their full potential due to insufficient investment, mentorship, and exposure.

For DJ Dewik and Hypeman Best, however, the story has been different.

The duo now serves as the official DJ and Hypeman for Soundcity On Tour 2026, presented by Bigi and Fearless Energy Drink, and scheduled to visit 20 tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

The first two stops of the tour, Pan-Atlantic University and Olabisi Onabanjo University, offered further evidence of their growth. At Pan-Atlantic University, the pair successfully elevated an already energetic audience. At the same time, at Olabisi Onabanjo University, they won over a more reserved crowd, demonstrating the confidence and versatility they had developed over years of stage experience.

With 18 campuses remaining on the tour schedule, DJ Dewik and Hypeman Best continue to showcase the results of a development process built on talent identification, consistent investment, and strategic placement.

Their rise serves as a reminder that discovering talent is only the first step. Sustained growth often depends on industry players’ willingness to provide the support, opportunities, and guidance required to turn potential into excellence.

As Soundcity On Tour 2026 progresses across the country, the duo’s journey stands as a compelling case study of what can happen when emerging talents are not only discovered but deliberately developed for long-term success.
