Nigerian-Canadian singer Joey Jaey has released a new single titled “My Life”, a track he described as an exploration of the complexities of love.
The single, produced by NakedBeatz and released under Joey Jaey Recordz, blends Afrobeats rhythms with elements of pop and alternative sounds. It serves as the lead track from his upcoming sophomore album, also titled My Life.
Joey Jaey, who hails from Delta State, Nigeria, and is based in Toronto, Canada, said the song reflects his ongoing artistic journey of merging African sounds with global influences. His debut album Naija to the 6ix introduced his cross-continental style, while his amapiano-infused track Orekelewa gained international recognition, including in Cuba.
Speaking on the new project, Joey Jaey said “My Life” was written to convey both the tenderness and risks of love. The song is accompanied by lyrics that express vulnerability and emotional intensity.
A music video for the single is scheduled for release two weeks after the audio launch, extending the story visually.
Joey Jaey, who is also a lawyer and human rights advocate, has described his music career as a means of bridging his African heritage with universal themes of humanity and emotion.
