Nigerian rapper, Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has said he would donate ₦1billion to the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) if he had the means.
The hip-hop star made this known on Monday in a post on his X handle while reacting to the church’s recent call for large-scale financial support.
According to him, giving to the work of God should come from a willing heart and not by compulsion.
“If I had a billion to contribute to the RCCG, I would do it and even more. It is not by force to serve the Lord; they did not say that if you do not drop N1bn, you will not enter heaven.
“As for me and my household, we will continue to support the work of Christ shamelessly. No matter what you people throw at us. You are just fulfilling the scriptures. God bless you,” he wrote.
Odumodublvck explained that donations are essential to the church’s operations, noting that not all members are financially stable. He added that such funds help pay for expenses like generator fuel, outreach logistics, and financial assistance to struggling congregants who often depend on pastors for small handouts after services.
The Guardian earlier reported that the General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, had appealed to members for significant contributions, seeking donations in billions and millions of naira to fund church projects.
