He made the announcement in an Instagram post on Tuesday, which he accompanied with photos of himself holding a Guinness certificate.
He wrote, “IT’S OFFICIAL! I am honoured to announce that I’ve broken the record for the longest magic show and am now officially a Guinness World Record holder.

The record attempt was held between November 27 and 29, 2025, at the POP Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, where he performed non-stop for 50 hours.
The achievement also surpassed the previous record of 30 hours and 45 minutes, which was held by the United Kingdom’s Richard Smith since 2004.

FaddotheGreat reportedly performed over 1,200 unique tricks, ranging from card routines to mentalism and stage illusions, under Guinness rules that barred him from repeating any trick within a four hour window.
Speaking on the significance of the feat, he said, “This record is more than a personal milestone; it is a statement for the Nigerian magic industry. For too long, magic in Africa has been misunderstood or relegated to the shadows. I wanted to show the world and my fellow Nigerians that magic is a sophisticated art form, a craft of logic and wonder that belongs on the world’s biggest stages.”
He is a First Class Civil Engineering graduate of Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State, and he spent over a year designing his own props and preparing physically for the marathon.

FaddotheGreat, who started out as a self-taught enthusiast, has performed at events such as Lagos Startup Week, the Pulse Influencer Awards, and Light-Up Lagos, and is known for building many of his own illusion
