When it comes to artistic authenticity, Alabo Tuonims, professionally known as Ninety, soars as one of the most progressive in his generation. After debuting, late last year, with Touch and Follow, the Port Harcourt-bred singer stretches his Afro-fusion apostolate with another soul-stringing bop dubbed, Diamonds.

With Diamonds, Ninety proves a point with his mid-tempo vocals, as a master of vocal ranges. In the choral-esque Afro-RnB tune, Ninety unlocks a slow-burn groove, with emotive lyricism. Produced by EmaOnigah, Diamonds is an intriguing preview of Ninety’s upcoming debut compilation soundpiece dubbed, Rare Gem.

Diamonds is inspired by women who keep asking men who have dated them for years to get married. On my forthcoming EP, there are seven songs which talk about seven different character traits of Nigerian women. The diamonds are the ones that tell you that they want to get married. It is almost like I am trying to find a perfect one that fits me, me trying to find my rare gem,” Ninety reveals the inspiration behind his record.

On Diamonds, Ninety shines brightest, reflecting the glimmers in his artistry.

Diamonds is out on all music streaming platforms.
