Nollywood actor, Lateef Adedimeji, has announced the birth of his triplet sons with his wife and fellow actress, Adebimpe Oyebade, popularly known as Mo Bimpe.

The actor shared the news on Friday through his Instagram page, where he described fatherhood as a major blessing and responsibility.

“I’ve been quiet… not absent. I was building, protecting, and embracing the greatest blessing of my life. God gave me more than I prayed for — a woman who became a mother of three, and three kings to call my own,” he wrote.

Adedimeji ended the post with the Islamic phrase, “Alhamdulilah,” but did not reveal the names of the children or when they were born.

The announcement has drawn widespread reactions from fans and colleagues, many of whom flooded his page with congratulatory messages.

Actress Mercy Aigbe wrote, “To God be the glory. Congratulations.”

Juliana Oloyede also wrote, “God is Good!!! God is Good!!!God is Good!!! Watching this again, I’m in tears, congratulations my fam, so happy for you two. Can’t believe I’m an Auntie”

Omowumi Dada added, “Such GOODNEWS for the month of May. THANK YOU JESUSSSSSSSSSSSSS. Congratulations fam”

The development comes months after the actor opened up about the emotional toll of online trolling on their marriage.

Adedimeji speaks on trolls, early struggles

The Guardian reported in 2025 that Adedimeji revealed how social media users repeatedly mocked his wife over childbearing.

“My wife and I have received a lot of trolling. Recently, someone called her barren on social media. She would always show it to me and say she would be all right,” he said during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo.

He noted that the comments tested their strength as a couple but did not break their bond.

Reflecting on his journey, the actor also spoke about the challenges he faced in the early days of his career, including moments of doubt from industry figures.

“When I wanted to do my first big-screen project, Lisabi, I realized everyone I thought would stand by me was absent,” he said. “But my wife was there, and she helped me stay confident.”

Adedimeji and Mo Bimpe, both prominent figures in the Yoruba film industry, got married in 2021.

Past paternity rumour debunked

In February 2021, a United States-based Yoruba actress, Oyinkansola Elebuibon, publicly denied claims that Adedimeji was the father of her child.

The rumour, which spread through an Instagram gossip blog, alleged that the actress had secretly welcomed a child for him in 2018 before relocating abroad.

Reacting in an Instagram live session, Elebuibon dismissed the claim and criticised those behind it.

“I don’t have a problem with anybody being a journalist or with anybody trying to make ends meet. Do you, but not by hurting others,” she said.

“This is not the first time this will happen. The first time this person would post something about me, I was shocked but I just let it slide then because I felt my response would only strengthen the news.”

‘Lateef is not the father of my child’

She stressed that there was no truth in the allegation and questioned the logic behind the claim.

“Think about it, does it make any sense for a woman to have a child for a man and keep the child away from him?” she said.

“Lateef is one of the successful actors we have in Nigeria. If I have a child for him, why will that be a shameful thing that I wouldn’t be able to proudly say?”

She added that if such a relationship existed, she would not have hidden it.

“If I am dating him, why will I be shy to say that? Am I that foolish?” she said.
