Nollywood Actor Wale Ojo Aims for Hollywood Standards
Nollywood actor, Wale Ojo, has challenged Nollywood, that it can be as big as Hollywood, and even better.
The actor who recently won Best Actor at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards for his role in “Breath of Life” spoke about many other things which also included his joy in learning he won the coveted award.
Ojo is proud of the award and the success of the movie. He says he felt good winning and that it was a great achievement.
He also wants Nollywood films to be as good as Hollywood films. He says Nollywood has come a long way, but there’s still room for improvement. He wants people around the world to respect Nollywood films.

In his words, Wale Ojo said “We have an international standard, but we still have a long way to go. I would really like us to compete with Hollywood
People in some parts of the world still look down on us, and I don’t want that to happen. That is what we are aiming for at my company— New Nigeria Cinema— to add value, and compete one on one with Hollywood.”
This is a goal for his company, New Nigeria Cinema. They want to make films that can compete with Hollywood films.
