Grammy award-winning entertainer, Pharrell Williams has been named as one of the honorees for the upcoming 23rd annual Hollywood Film Awards.

The “happy” crooner was recently the cover star of the latest edition of GQ Magazine dubbed “The new Masculinity” issue which explored of the ways that traditional notions of masculinity are being challenged, overturned, and evolved.

Williams talked about his masculinity and working through thorny ideas about the patriarchy, about the politics of gender and sexual identity in 2019 and beyond, about past missteps and his personal evolution.

He says: “I think the truest definition of masculinity is the essence of you that understands and respects that which isn’t masculine. If you ask me, when we talk about masculinity, it’s also very racial, this conversation. Because the dominant force on this planet right now is the older straight white male. And there’s a particular portion of them that senses a tanning effect. They sense a feminizing effect. They sense a non binary effect when it comes to gender.”

The Film Awards also announced that Skateboard P would be taking home the Hollywood Song Award for his contributions to “Letter to My Godfather” in Netflix’s The Black Godfather, which told the story of legendary music executive Clarence Avant.

Avengers: Endgame will also be honored with the Hollywood Blockbuster Award come Nov. 3 for notching the highest grossing film of all-time.

The Hollywood Film Awards, produced by dick clark productions, will take place at The Beverly Hilton on Nov. 3, and are to be hosted by actor Rob Riggle.
