It's really sad to see what this young man has turned into. Ebiye used to be kinda funny, now he's just repugnant & even the mask of "comedy" can no longer hide how uncanny & far from funny he is. Somebody talk some sense into him please! https://t.co/qhxnNKHZVA

Remember when Ebiye made light of Kemen sexual assaulting someone?
Remember when he "joked" that Aramide slept with people to get an award?
And now Lupita N'yongo?
Just ignore this guy and get peace of mind. He knows he's problematic and thrives on the attention.

First, he insinuates Aramide slept with men for an award- which was duly deserved.
Now, he makes a blatant colourist insensitive joke denigrating Lupita.
It’s beginning to look like every six months, the devil sits on top of Ebiye’s career and decides to write coconut with it. pic.twitter.com/n6cBkHOOuL

In 2018, Ebiye was dragged on social media after he insinuated that Nigerian singer Aramide had slept around for an award.
The controversial comedian later apologised:
“I made a distasteful joke about @aramidemusic last night at the headies. I am embarrassed by my comments and I am profusely sorry. Aramide is a hardworking artist who deserves every recognition she gets by merit. I sincerely apologize and pledge that such will not repeat itself again. I pledge to control my words in the future as things said and written cannot be taken back.”
