Since the announcement of the return of the show Red Table Talk hosted by Jada Pinket Smith, her mother Adrienne Banfield Norris and her daughter Willow, the thought has been ‘‘will the Oscars slap incident be talked about?’’

As the show is famous for tackling daring issues. With its first show since the slap, Red Table Talk did address it despite reports of the show being pre-planned.

Regardless, Jada Pinkett in subtle ways talked about the altercation between Will Smith and Chris Rock that did not have the show primarily focused on it.

Jada notes through a card reading that the Smith family is on a healing journey.

“Considering all that has happened in the last few weeks, the Smith family has been focused on deep healing,” a note read before the beginning of episode one.

“Some of the discoveries around our healing will be shared at the table when the time calls,” it added. “Until then the table will continue offering itself to powerful, inspiring and healing testimonies like that of our incredibly impressive first guest.”

The opening note of the show also added “Until then … the table will continue offering itself to powerful, inspiring and healing testimonies like that of our incredibly impressive first guest,” the statement signed by Pinkett Smith continued. “Thanks for joining us.”

Guests in appearance were Grammy nominee Janelle Monae discussing her new book and Kim Basinger and daughter Ireland Baldwin who are the parents of late Miss USA Cheslie Kryst who committed suicide. While another episode will have one of the Tinder Swindler’s victims, Ayleen Charlotte.
