
Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk told sources that season two of the acclaimed series will return with two actors from the past season.
He said “Gi-hun for sure. He will be back,“ he went ahead to say I believe the Front Man will be back too.”
Lee Byung-hun, who played the role of Squid Game overseer Hwang In-ho of 456 players, is expected for a return in season two of the dystopian drama.
Seong Gi-hun who gripped the audience with variations of his performance as a troubled divorced man with a gambling addiction, earned an Independent Spirit Award, Critics’ Choice Award, and SAG Award. The 49-year old actor also was the winner at the Screen Actors Guild Award for best actor for his role in the series as he was the only survivor and winner of the series of deadly children’s games.
At the end of the season, Gi-hun is indecisive on going to see his daughter in the US, attempting to put a stop to the deadly game he participated in.
Squid Game renewed its second season with streaming service in January, to be aired by the ‘end of 2024.’
In its first outing, Squid Game topped in 94 countries reaching number one with an estimate of 142M viewership in four weeks.
Speaking on, the creator ceased the moment to open up about the next project at hand. The South Korean filmmaker is currently developing a feature film that he describes as being “another controversial film.”
