Luxury womenswear label 5kwomen by Koyinsola has been named Fashion Personality of the Year (Diaspora) at the Golden Stars Awards, in recognition of its contribution to African fashion and its growing international footprint.
Founded by Koyinsola Gbenga-Kareem, the brand reflects more than a decade of experience in fashion design and six years of building 5kwomen into an established name within the luxury womenswear market.
According to the brand, Koyinsola began her career at a time when Nigeria’s fashion industry had limited digital visibility, relying on craftsmanship, client referrals and consistent service to build a reputation rather than social media exposure.
That steady growth has helped the brand expand beyond Nigeria, with clients in the United Kingdom, the United States and other international markets.
Koyinsola travelled from the United Kingdom to Nigeria to receive the award, joining other professionals recognised for their contributions to fashion and the wider creative industry.
The recognition marks another milestone for the brand, reflecting years of sustained growth and commitment to promoting African fashion on the global stage.
