Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Rihanna Leads Forbes Highest Paid Women In Music 2019
Taylor Swift is having a good 2019 as not only is the most-nominated act at this year’s VMAs, she is also the highest-paid woman in music. As if that is not enough, the ‘Lover’ crooner is also also the world’s top-earning entertainer of any stripe.
She clinched in this top position with N66,970,000,000 ($185 million) pretax over the past year.
The “Me!” singer is trailed by pop music sensations, Beyoncé who follows behind at a distant number two withN29,322,000,000 ($81 million) and ‘Work’ hitmaker, Rihanna completes the top three with N22,444,000,000 ($62 million).
According to People, most of Swift’s earnings came from her Reputation stadium tour. Running from May to November 2018 worldwide, the tour grossed a U.S.-record $266 million, and was easily her most successful tour to date.
Beyoncé’s earnings came mostly from last year’s On The Run II stadium tour, as well her live album and Netflix film, both named Homecoming.
Rihanna on her part made a huge chunk of her recent earnings come from Fenty Beauty joint venture with luxury goods giant LVMH. the popular cosmetics line she launched in 2017.
Forbes list of the world’s highest-paid women in music measures pretax income from June 2018 to June 2019. Fees for agents, managers and lawyers are not deducted. The numbers are compiled with data from Nielsen Music and Pollstar, as well as interviews with handlers, industry experts and many of the stars themselves.
