Taylor Swift Makes Billboard Music Awards History With 10 Wins
Taylor Swift made history at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards, becoming the first artist ever to win ten awards in a single year. The singer-songwriter took home top honors in categories including Top Artist, Top Female Artist, and Top Billboard 200 Artist.
Swift’s historic night also included wins for Top Radio Songs Artist, Top Song Sales Artist, Top Billboard Global 200 Artist, Top Billboard Global (Excl. U.S.) Artist, Top Hot 100 Songwriter, and Top Selling Song (“Anti-Hero”).
In her acceptance speech for Top Artist, Swift thanked her fans for their unwavering support. “Well, this is unreal,” she said. “The fact that you guys have given me ten Billboard Awards – I’m talking to the fans specifically – none of this happens without you. Billboards base everything off of what you’re listening to and what you’re passionate about, and I’m so honored that this year you made The Eras Tour so magical. You went and saw the movie, you cared about my rerecordings. I just, like, I love you so much. I feel like the luckiest person in the world to have you in my corner and caring about the music that I make, so thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you 10 million times. I can’t believe this is happening to me.”
Swift is now tied with Drake for the most BBMA wins of all time, with both artists having 39 trophies to their names.
