This week was indeed very exciting with lots of drama and people getting into the world billionaires list. Here is our list of some of the most memorable events that shook the world.

Surprise Wins At The Oscar

The 90th Oscars was filled with historic wins. The event saw Jordan Pelle win “Original Screenplay” for his directional debut, Get Out, and basketballer, Kobe Bryant, win the “Best Animated Short” for Dear Basketball. The Shape of Water got 13 nominations and won 4 including the “Best Picture”.

Jeff Bezos is officially the richest man alive. With a net worth of $124.3 billion, he is the first man to hit the 12-figure amount. Second in place is Billy Gates with $90 billion. This year, we saw first-time appearances from Zimbabwe and Hungary while the number of Saudi Arabians dropped. A record of 256 women almost made the list with Alice Walton having $46 billion.

Not again. Usher and wife, Grace Miguel (well soon to be ex) have split after two years. The couple who have kept away from the public eye jointly issued a statement together saying that they are no longer interested in being a couple but added that they remain loving friends who will continue supporting each other. The two began dating 10 years ago after his divorce with his first wife, Tameka and got married in 2015.

The 2018 Oscar’s Best Actress, Frances McDormand, who had given an applauding speech, was put in a frenzy after her Oscar got stolen at The Governor’s Ball. It turns out that the man, who stole the Oscar, Terry Bryant, made a video of himself minutes before his arrest saying that Oscar belongs to him and his team. He pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.

Bad girl Riri is showing no sign of stopping. Following the success of her make-up line, Fenty Beauty, Rihanna is rumoured to be working on an underwear line.
