Tory Lanez has denied leaking documents in the assault case filed by rapper Megan Thee Stallion.

The singer, who appeared in a California courtroom on Thursday, denied claims that he allegedly leaked a sealed discovery from the case shortly after Megan’s April 25 appearance on CBS News with Gayle King.

According to Rolling Stone, Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta told the judge that she was still “trying to ascertain” the source of the alleged leaks.

“Since the last court date, it was apparent there were some leaks of part of the discovery to media or members of the public,” she said.

She continued, “My concern is the way the leaks are being disseminated and extrapolated in certain ways to mislead the state of the evidence.”

“I do have concerns about invested members of the public trying to subvert the fair administration of justice.”

However, Lanez’s lawyer Shawn Holley argued that she was sure that Lanez did not leak the “watermarked” discovery.

“I’m certain that whatever exists that is out there won’t have my name on it or Mr. Peterson’s name on it,” Holley said.

She also noted that Megan’s appearance on CBS spiked public interest in the case while her client is under a protective order that bars him from speaking on the case.

She said, “Seventeen days after we were last here, Ms. Pete, the accuser in this case, went on Gayle King on CBS This Morning – which is far beyond ‘Black Twitter’ – and discussed exclusively the allegations in this case. So she upped the ante.”

“I received numerous emails from the producers of that show asking Mr. Peterson to come on and give his side of the story.”

The Judge, David Herriford, ordered Lanez to return for a follow-up hearing on July 28 and pointed out that Lanez’s trial is still set to begin September 14, or within 10 days of that date.

Parts of a sealed police report from the July 12, 2020, shooting incident were leaked by YouTube blogger Feddit1811 two weeks after Megan’s CBS interview aired. Sandra Cabral, one of the policemen who responded to the site of the alleged shooting, wrote the preliminary report.

Social media focused on the part of the statement that read, “Dr. Loffredo confirmed laceration due to stepping on glass.”

Meanwhile, LAPD Det. Ryan Stogner, who took the witness stand, had testified that a doctor who treated Megan at Cedars-Sinai reported that she was shot in both feet.

“He told me that he had to surgically remove what he described as bullet fragments from Megan’s left and right feet. When that surgery was conducted, he used stitches to suture the wounds,” he said, confirming “there were bullet fragments that he was unable to remove from Megan’s foot that remains in her foot to this day.”

Megan The Stallion recounted the details of the shooting incident in an interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings back in April.

In the interview preview, the Grammy Award winner shared her account of the night she alleges that Tory Lanez shot her in both feet during a party in the Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles.

Addressing the incident for the first time in almost two years, she said, “it was an argument because I was ready to go and everybody else wasn’t ready to go, but that’s like normal friend stuff. We fuss about silly stuff all the time.”

“But … I never put my hands on anybody, I never raised my voice too loud. This was one of the times where it shouldn’t have got this crazy.”

She continued, “I didn’t even want to move. I didn’t want to move too quick, ’cause I’m like, ‘Oh my God, if I take the wrong step, I don’t know if he could shoot something that’s super important, I don’t know if he could shoot me and kill me “.

“I was really scared ’cause I had never been shot at before.”

The rap star revealed that she had feared the police’s reaction to learning that there was a gun in the car, which is why she had covered up for Lanez.

At the time of the incident, Tory Lanez was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle before being released on $35,000 bail later that same day.
