Make this summer memorable by doing something different. The season is warm and should be spent in places that put things in perspective. Stray from the regular destinations and go to places with history, depth and exciting things to offer.

By day, the dramatically sculpted red rock back country is the main draw for hikers, mountain bikers, rock climbers, and off-road “Jeepers.” But, at night, all eyes are on the skies. Named the world’s eighth International Dark Sky Community in 2014, Sedona (elevation 4,600 feet) is one of the best places in the world to witness celestial wonders such as a blue moon.

The majestic capital is a scene of golden palaces, floating markets, and majestic porcelain-laid spires. Shop at Pratunam or Siam Square, unwind at the European-style gardens of Dusit, and experience the Wat Arun temple in Thon Buri. Also, the Wat Pho temple of the Reclining Buddha in Phra Nakhon and the Grand Palace are worth seeing. Food is always an essential part of traveling, so stop to savor some mango sticky rice at a food stall.

The Vietnamese capital has aged well like fine wine. It has preserved  the Old Quarter, monuments and colonial architecture, but still allows modern developments to take their course.Visit sites like  Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and Hoa Lo Prison to witness the past of Hanoi. Lakes, parks, shady boulevards and more than 600 temples and pagodas add to the appeal of this city, which can be easily explored by taxi.

You can take a trip through the Sacred Valley of the Inca to the ancient city of Machu Picchu by booking a group tour.
