American rapper, Travis Scott, recently made headlines with his European “Circus Maximus” tour in Milan. The concert had 80,000 fans in attendance, raising concerns about a potential earthquake during the concert activities.

Taking the stage at the Ippodromo Snai La Maura open-air venue, the Houston-born rapper delivered a performance that seemingly caused the earth to tremble beneath the feet of the concertgoers. This was also felt by other Italians who weren’t at the concert. Scott performed his hit song, FE!N, eight times in a row, sending the capacity crowd into a hyped state.

Although the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology did not report any actual earthquake activity in Milan that night. Italian fans posted their concerns on social media. Some claimed to have felt the ground shaking. “Am I the only one who heard the #terremoto in Milan?” one user tweeted in Italian, while another added, “Did I alone feel three good tremors of #Terremoto a Milano?”. “Terremeto,” is a Spanish word for earthquake.

Additionally, videos that captured the entire arena surfaced online showing a sea of phones, mosh pits, and people’s bodies moving in unison to the music.

Furthermore, Travis Scott took to his social media account to thank his Milan fans. The rapper wrote, “LAST NIGHT WAS A DREAM. ‘NO THIS ISN’T FESTIVAL. THIS A SHOW ON THE TOUR’ IN THE WORDS OF STROMBERG.”

“MILAN YALL OWE ME NOTHING. YALL GAVE YALL ALL 80k OF YALL HAD THE BEST TIME EVER. CIRCUS MAXIMUS.”

This situation follows Travis Scott’s last performance at the same venue in June 2023 which raised the same concerns.

The “Circus Maximus” tour is Travis’s first global tour since the tragic loss of lives at his Astroworld Festival in 2021. Due to the overcapacity and a crowd surge, some people were trampled on, leaving 10 dead and many injured.

Travis Scott’s popularity is evident in the thousands of people who attend his concerts. His Coachella 2022 set with over 100,000 people, and his Lollapalooza 2023 concert with 90,000 people are a prime example of this.
