Coleslaw can safely be kept for up to five days if it is kept in the refrigerator and has not been taken out and placed back in for an extended period of time. Like many other things with a life span, coleslaw is not found wanting. It’s crucial to keep in mind that this is the maximum period of time it should be retained. The amount of time coleslaw has been left out of the refrigerator and how fresh the ingredients are both affect how long it may be stored.

The wisest course of action is always to tread carefully and discard something if you’re unsure. Food poisoning is almost always worse.

Using masking tape and a permanent marker, you can put the date on the tape and attach it to the bowl or storage container to keep track of the expiry date of your home-cooked meals. This eliminates any uncertainty and enables you to plan precisely when to discard any leftovers.
