The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has distanced himself from the arrest of popular TikToker, Olumide Ogunsanwo, aka ‘SeaKing.’
He has also called for his immediate release.
Ogunsanwo was recently rearrested over allegations of cyberbullying the revered cleric.
His detention has sparked reactions, with many questioning the circumstances surrounding his arrest.
During the church’s monthly Holy Ghost Service held at the Redemption City along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State on Friday, Adeboye addressed the issue, stating that he was not involved in the decision to detain the social media personality.

In a video of his sermon, which gained traction online on Saturday, the 82-year-old preacher made it clear that he neither ordered nor supported the arrest.
He revealed that some individuals, apparently angered by SeaKing’s comments, took matters into their own hands.
“I heard that there is someone who lambasted me thoroughly. What is my offence? Because I asked my people to fast for 100 days. I didn’t ask him o,” Adeboye said while speaking to the congregation.
He further explained, “I didn’t even ask anybody who is not a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God to fast. I was told some people got so angry and went to arrest the fellow. Release him, he’s fulfilling prophecy.”
Meanwhile, human rights activist and politician, Omoyele Sowore, who visited the detained TikToker at a police facility in Abuja on Friday, alleged that the arrest was based on a petition submitted in Adeboye’s name.
According to Sowore, the petition was reportedly filed by one Paul James Adama, who used the name of a Christian association allegedly linked to the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
As the controversy continues to unfold, social media users and civil rights groups have intensified calls for SeaKing’s release, questioning the legitimacy of the petition.
