Nigerian comedian and filmmaker, Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has unveiled his rebuilt mansion in Lekki, Lagos, two years after it was destroyed by fire.
In a video shared on his Instagram page on Wednesday, the entertainer posted a montage showing scenes of the burnt building and fresh views of the renovated house.
According to him, the incident took more than just the property, as it also shook his peace and comfort.
In the voiceover, AY said, “Two years ago today, everything went up in flames: my home, my peace, my comfort zone. And that was just the beginning. I have seen betrayal, lies, and storms that tried to silence everything I built.
“But I am still here, not because I am lucky, but because God is faithful and grave is louder than gossip, and purpose doesn’t burn in fire.”
The mansion, which went up in flames in 2023, has now been completely restored.
The new video revealed a home with marble floors, spiral staircases, and a fusion of modern and Afrocentric designs.
The fire had forced AY and his family to move out temporarily. At the time, fans, colleagues, and fellow entertainers showed massive support online and offline.
Since the unveiling, the video has attracted a flood of congratulatory messages on social media, with many praising the comedian’s strength and resilience.
