Viewers of Big Brother Naija Season 10 witnessed another surprise on Monday night as Biggie overturned the week 5 nomination results, ensuring no contestant faced possible eviction.
The twist came just after the organisers brought back the usual nomination exercise for the first time this season.
Every housemate was asked to put forward two names, a move that initially placed Ivatar, Faith, Thelma Lawson, Zita, Tracy and Sultana in danger.
The voting session saw different names tossed around. Denari went for Kuture and Kola, while Ivatar picked Kuture and Thelma. Koyin nominated Isabella and Sultana, whereas Isabella herself mentioned Sultana and Joanna. Faith chose Ivatar and Denari, while Thelma Lawson listed Jason Jae and Koyin.
Other choices followed: Kola named Jason Jae and Doris; Imisi opted for Faith and Zita; Jason Jae returned with Thelma Lawson and Faith; Mide also nominated Zita and Faith; Tracy chose Kaybobo and Imisi; Sultana selected Bright Morgan and Zita; Mensan mentioned Ivatar and Sultana; Dede went for Sultana and Big Soso; Zita picked Mide and Denari; Big Soso mentioned Dede and Ivatar; Kuture put forward Ivatar and Faith; Doris named Thelma Lawson and Tracy; Bright Morgan settled on Faith and Zita; Joanna chose Kaybobo and Tracy; Kaybobo picked Tracy and Koyin; and Rooboy selected Imisi and Isabella.
What looked like a tense week, however, quickly turned around when the Head of House, Rooboy, was instructed to pick from the Tree of Trinkets. The slip he drew granted him the power to wipe off all the nominations.
Biggie then announced: “Head of House Rooboy, you have drawn the power to nullify nominations. This means your nominations are null and void. Is this clear? It means the whole house is safe and free from eviction for the week.”
The declaration was met with cheers, hugs and applause as relief swept across the house. For many contestants, it was a lucky escape that guaranteed them at least one more week in the competition.
