The 10th season of Big Brother Naija kicked off with drama on Saturday and Sunday as 29 new housemates entered the reality TV house for a shot at over N150m worth of prizes.
The female contestants were unveiled on Saturday, July 26, while the male housemates joined on Sunday, July 27. Within 48 hours, the house has witnessed tension, bold personalities, kitchen clashes and what fans call “premium gbas gbos.”
Drama starts early with kitchen fights, personality clashes
One of the first major moments came as Jason Jae, a creative director from Ondo State, emerged as the first Head of House. But his leadership was quickly tested.
Viewers saw Imisi confronting Jason over control of the kitchen. Not long after, Isabella and Thelma clashed in what has become the season’s first food fight. There were also spats between Rooboy and Kuture, as well as Sultana and Ivatar, signalling a brewing storm under the roof.
Housemates with early spotlight
Among the standout female contestants is Big Soso, a 28-year-old lawyer and chef whose calm but fiery presence is already getting attention. Another is Dede, 23, who describes herself as “unbothered” and doesn’t mind stepping on toes.
Doris, 33, called herself a “chaos connoisseur” and has not disappointed fans so far, while Gigi Jasmine, a 31-year-old DJ, says she can “read your soul” before you speak.
On the male side, Koyin, 21, said he plans to cause “relationship drama,” while Rooboy, 29, a hypeman, brought “raw energy with no filter.” Faith, 25, a doctor, also caused a stir after describing himself as “flirty” and “polyamorous.”
New rules, new twists
The show introduced fresh game elements this season, including a new “Influential Player of the Week” twist and Head of House games every Sunday.
The show airs 24/7 on DStv Channel 198 and GOtv Channel 49. Live eviction shows will be broadcast every Sunday on Africa Magic Showcase (DStv 151), Africa Magic Family (DStv 154, GOtv 7), and also on Showmax.
Fans are already divided on who to support, with social media buzzing about possible alliances and future betrayals.
