Celebrities have been voicing their opinions on social media asking that the man who opened fire at the crowd in Las Vegas, injuring 500 and killing 58, be considered a terrorist. They also argue for greater gun control in the United States.

Ariana Grande was one of the celebrities who addressed the Las Vegas shooting, tapping into her personal experience last May when a terrorist attack took place at her concert in Manchester, United Kingdom, killing 22 and injuring 60 people.

Accompanied by other celebs such as Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Zendaya and Ava DuVernay, Grande criticised the fact that the alleged perpetrator of this shooting, which has been named as the most deadly in the United States since the end of the Second World War, is not considered a terrorist. Since the killing, Stephen Paddock has been described as ‘lone wolf’ or ‘killer’ in the American press, but not often as ‘terrorist.’
