Nightlife promoter Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has expressed disappointment over his absence at the white wedding of Afrobeats star David Adeleke, also known as Davido, and his wife, Chioma Rowland, in Miami, United States.

Chief Priest, a close friend of Davido, took to Instagram on Saturday to share his frustration, explaining that visa issues prevented him from attending the ceremony.

“I woke up this morning with mixed feelings, I’m happy and I’m still sad at the same time,” he wrote.

“Sometimes God has a way of making you understand that you are powerless regardless of all you may think you have.”
Chief Priest said the online criticism over his absence has given him “multiple reasons” to reapply for a US visa.
“I appreciate the bashing because that has given me multiple reasons & proof to apply again @usinnigeria do it for me this time,” he stated. “You can clearly see how disappointed & hurt the world is to see me absent at my best friend’s wedding, you need to give me access to get my fat ass into America.”

The Imo-born businessman said he remains optimistic, stressing that his inability to attend does not reduce his support for the couple.

“Well, delay is never denial, CP is still hopeful. I’m wishing my best friend @davido & his beautiful wife @thechefchi an amazing wedlock,” he added.

He noted that while he was absent physically, his wife represented him at the wedding.

“The largest part of me, which is my family, my beautiful, elegant, expensive, eloquent & sophisticated wife @deangels, is there to share in this luxury blissful experience, so I’m there in body & spirit,” he wrote.
Ending his post, Chief Priest appealed once more to the US Embassy. “@usinnigeria I’m in again next week, please give me access to the greatest country in the world. This pain is really paining.”

The Miami wedding has drawn attention across social media, with several Nigerian celebrities, including Teniola Apata, Adekunle Gold, and Zlatan Ibile, in attendance at the celebrations.

The event follows the couple’s traditional wedding in Lagos in June 2024.
