“One for Olu, One for Tagbo 🌹!”
Davido dedicated the two awards he won at the 2017 Africa Muzik Magazine Awards and Music Festival (AFRIMMA) to his two friends, Tagbo and DJ Olu, who dies days apart last week.
Davido went home with the Artist of the Year award and the Song of the Year Award for his hit song “IF”.
The singer shared a photo of the awards on his Instagram page, writing:
“One for Olu, One for Tagbo 🌹! Nothing but love, support, and positive energy came from you guys! Thanks for you guys for keeping me motivated. This is ‘OUR’ Award. Thank you Afrimma! Thank you, Lord.”
Tagbo died last Monday and the cause of his death is yet to be identified. DJ Olu, one of the official DJs for Davido’s record label, was found dead a few days later in his car along with his friend, Chime.
