Talented Nigerian songbird, Simi has us anticipating her third studio album which is set to drop on her birthday, April 19 but it appears she has more in store for us than just that.

It is gathered that the “Tiff” hitmaker has a collaboration in the works with American DJ and Grammy award-winning producer, Diplo.

A check on Diplo’s social media page also confirms the news as Diplo shared a photo of Simi working in the studio, naming her a legend.

In the past, Diplo has worked with world-renowned music acts like Beyonce, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, Sia and the queen of pop music, Madonna.

Diplo is the co-creator and lead member of the electronic dancehall music project Major Lazer, a member of the supergroup LSD, with Sia and Labrinth.

He is also working with producer and DJ Skrillex as part of the electronic duo Jack Ü, as well as on Silk City with Mark Ronson.

Simi would not be the first Nigerian act Diplo is working with as in 2018, he collaborated with Mr Eazi on his “Open & Close” track.

Like all other fans around the world, we are eagerly awaiting to see what the music duo has in store for us!

We reported earlier that Simi posted on social media that internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo boys are bringing shame to the country and they need to desist from supporting Nigerian artistes. However, a social media user alleged that Simi’s husband, Adekunle Gold who is also a singer used to support Yahoo boys.

According to the allegation, when Adekunle Gold was still a graphics designer, he edited documents for Yahoo boys and as such, Simi has no moral right to call them out. Adekunle Gold was quick to shut down the allegation saying that it never happened.

In the same vein, Nigerian singer and producer, Samklef also seemed to shade Simi when he said artists should leave Yahoo boys alone as there are more pressing problems facing Nigeria.
