Canadian rapper Drake described the end of his three-year feud with rapper Meek Mill as “one of most electric and gratifying moments of my career.” He added,

“I’m happy that you are home and that we could find our way back to our joint purpose.”

The two rappers had, since 2015, traded insults online and through their music after Meek Mill accused Drake of not writing his own lyrics.

After declaring their long-running feud over in the media, Drake made things official by sharing the stage for the first time with Meek Mill in front of a packed TD Garden crowd.

This happened midway through his Aubrey & The Three Migos Live tour which the Canadian rapper is currently on.

Leaving the fans startled, Meek Mill took over the show by performing one of his most popular songs, Dreams and Nightmares from his 2012 album. They ended it with a friendly embrace at the end of the song.

Sharing their moment on Instagram, Drake wrote:

“This really gave me peace of mind tonight. Healing and moving forward created one of the most electric and gratifying moments of my career. @meekmill I’m happy that you are home and that we could find our way back to our joint purpose 🙏🏽🙌🏽 (Cue the Kevin Garnett “anything is possible” adlib)”

The rappers’ initial fallout came as a surprise to many music fans as they seemed to also have a good relationship outside of music.

However, a since-deleted tweet from Meek Mill in July 2015 saw him accuse Drake of one of the cardinal sins of being a rapper. The tweet read:

“Stop comparing Drake to me too. He don’t write his own raps! That’s why he ain’t tweet my album because we found out!”

Meek Mill also expressed his disgust at rappers who don’t write their own material in an interview with 1Xtra DJ Charlie Sloth at Hot 97’s Summer Jam concert in June 2015.

This led to a battle of words, threats and diss tracks with more accusations and denials between the pair. What added some extra spice to their beef was that, at the time, Meek Mill was dating Nicki Minaj,  a very close friend of Drake’s who was signed to the same label as him.

This is their first public showing that they have put their differences aside.

Other celebrities so far have applauded their decision to end their feud. Comedian Kevin Hart wrote “#GrownMen” in the comments section of Drake’s post.
