This Is My Brave, a non-profit organization, has declined to receive the proceeds from Jamie Lynn Spear’s upcoming memoir ‘Things I Should Have Said.’

Jamie Lynn was caught off guard by the non-profit’s decision to decline her upcoming book sales donation offer.

This Is My Brave announced that they chose to decline the proceeds from the book’s sales due to the Spears family conservatorship drama.

Sister to American singer Britney Spears, Jamie Lynn Spears plans to release a memoir titled ‘Things I Should Have Said’ in January. A source told People’s magazine that she was “totally blindsided” by the organization’s public refusal.

“The organization was recommended and vetted and knew we were donating, but they’ve been overwhelmed,” the source said.

This Is My Brave announced that they’d passed on the offer in a statement on Instagram. “We are deeply sorry to anyone we offended. We are declining the donation from Jamie Lynn Spears’ upcoming book.”

The organization also added that it was “recommended to be a beneficiary organization for the proceeds” of the memoir but ultimately “made the decision to decline the offer.”

This book drama comes amid the Spears family drama as Jamie Lynn had been accused of not supporting her sister Britney amid her conservatorship battle against their father, James P. Spears.

Britney had dropped hints that her relationship with her younger sister is strained. The rift intensified when Jamie Lynn announced plans to release her book that will allegedly address things like her sister’s conservatorship as well as her daughter’s near-fatal ATV accident in 2017.

“I owe it to myself, my younger self, and to my daughters to be an example that you should never edit yourself or your truth to please anyone else,” Jamie Lynn previously announced on Instagram.

Responding a few days later, Britney announced that she is considering releasing her book in 2022.
