It’s almost the end of the year and growth seems to be the only agenda people have and we very much agree with that. From Kiss Daniel starting his record label to Pope Francis customised Lamborghini, and the first Hijab-wearing Barbie, these are the stories that made our week…

Kiss Daniel starts new record label

Kiss Daniel Flyboy INC

The Yeba crooner, Kiss Daniel is on a roll! The roll also includes him leaving the G-Worldwide record label and, within a day, has unveiled his own record label – Flyboy I.N.C. The 23-year-old singer confirmed the rumours after removing the label’s contact information from his social media handle and responding to a tweet from a fan who congratulated him for leaving the label, to which, he said: “’Thank you, we got this 100%.”

Kim Kadarshian reveals baby’s gender

Kim Kardashian at the Ellen Degeneres Show

The Kardashians are radically known for being very secretive, despite ‘living’ in the public eye. It was no surprise that Kim kept mum about the gender of her third child with Kanye West who she’s having with the help of a surrogate. That was until her appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show where she slipped when she quoted North saying, ““Mom, since baby sister is not here, I think I need all of her toys in my room, and I’ll play with them and make sure they’re all okay for a baby sister.” Now we know, it’s a girl!!!

First Hijab Barbie

Ibtihaj Muhammad with a hijab Barbie

The Barbie brand has made one of the biggest moves in inclusivity history with the debut of its very first hijab-wearing model. The Barbie doll was inspired by Olympic fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad who made history in the summer of 2016 as the first member of the U.S Olympic team to compete in a hijab. This move by the brand goes a long way in encouraging and honouring girls of various backgrounds.

Pope auctions customised Lamborghini

Pope Francis was donated a Lamborghini Huracan by the luxury car maker Lamborghini. The autographed car by the Pope will be auctioned at Sotheby’s with the proceeds going to charities, including one aimed at rebuilding Christian communities in Iraq devastated by an Islamic State group. The base price for the car starts at 78 million naira and we are sure the special edition for the papal charity will cost more at auction.

Beyonce and the Carter twins

Bey and Sir Carter

Ever since the iconic flower-themed shoot of the Carter twins, Sir and Rumi, Beyonce and Jay-Z have barely been captured by the public with the twins. Breaking that spell last week, the internet went crazy when, for the first time since the photo shoot, the couple was seen coming out of their temporary mansion in Miami where they were staying ahead of Jay-Z’s Orlando concert with all their children. While Beyonce carried Sir, Rumi was carried by Jay-Z’s mom, Gloria. Tina Knowles was also spotted cradling Rumi.
