Nigerian singer and dancer, Korra Obidi, has come under heavy backlash after revealing that she was nearly removed from a flight over what airline staff described as indecent dressing.

The incident, which took place aboard a flight to Atlanta, was shared by the US-based entertainer via a video posted on Facebook over the weekend.

Obidi, who appeared in a pink, skin-baring outfit, said she was told to wear something over her clothes or risk being kicked off the plane.

“I was almost kicked off the plane for this outfit. Be honest, was this airline doing the most?” she wrote as caption on the video, which has since gone viral.

The post quickly sparked reactions across Facebook and X (formerly Twitter), with many users criticising the dancer for what they described as “irresponsible” and “attention-seeking” dressing.

A user on Facebook, Ndimele Shulammite, said, “You self try to dey dress well nah, no be Athena skirt you wear so. Nawaoh.”

Another user, Candace Jones, added, “Put some clothes over your bathing suit. That’s an airport, not your house.”

On X, the reactions were even more scathing.

One user, @_gabrielokolie, wrote, “Oyibo wey dash una immoralities don dey teach una morality, reverse psychology.”

Another, @florad_xplorer, said, “A woman, a mother, no nau… It is very obvious this woman was the reason her marriage ended. She lacks decorum.”

A tweet from @Impregnabilis also read, “It’s a shame that the oyibo are more morally upright than an average African ‘queen’. Our ladies borrowed the worst of their culture & now even overdoing it.”
