Your 20s, sometimes called the “second floor,” are the years when everyone expects you to start laying the foundation for the rest of your life. It is the season of firsts such as first job, first house, and maybe even first serious relationship. People around you keep reminding you to start early and set things up.

It sounds like a big deal because it is. This is the time society expects you to figure out adulthood, from work to finances,
housing, marriage and children. The pressure can be overwhelming, not just from family and society but also from yourself.

Truth is, being in your 20s can feel confusing. Some days make no sense, some days you will feel like you are sinking, yet you still have to show up. That is adulthood. It is scary, but you are not alone in feeling lost. Everyone goes through it.

Here are a few ways to make your 20s less confusing:

1. Be open to learn

Nobody has it all figured out. Ask for advice, talk to people who have been there, and stay curious. Every conversation can teach you something new.

2. Build real friendships

There is an old saying that no man is an island. Life is already tough enough, so do not go through it alone. Surround yourself with trusted friends who support you and push you forward.

3. Pray

Even if your parents still pray for you, learn to pray for yourself too. Life comes with unexpected challenges, and being spiritually grounded gives you strength.

4. Learn to manage money early

Your 20s are the best time to build financial discipline. Budget wisely, save little by little, and avoid unnecessary debts. Money decisions made now can shape your future stability.

5. Take care of your health

Skipping meals, eating junk, or avoiding exercise might look harmless now, but it will catch up later. Build healthy habits like eating well, staying active and sleeping properly. Your body will thank you.

At the end of the day, you do not need to have everything figured out right now. Take it one step at a time. Your 20s do not have to be perfect; they just have to be real.
