Will Smith is opening up about his marriage to Jada Pinkett Smith in light of her new memoir, “Worthy,” which unveiled some surprising revelations, including their separation in 2016. During a book tour event in Baltimore with Jada, Will described their 30-year relationship as “very long and full of ups and downs.”

“We call it ‘brutiful,'” he shared with the Baltimore Sun, explaining that it was both brutal and beautiful at the same time.

At the event, Will expressed the importance of his presence and how he wanted to support Jada just as she had supported him throughout their journey. He also described their marriage as a “sloppy public experiment in unconditional love,” as reported by The Baltimore Banner.

“I’m happier today than ever before,” he proclaimed. “I’ve achieved all my dreams, from awards to wealth, and a loving family.”

Will praised Jada for her role in raising their children, Jaden, Willow, and Trey Smith, as he pursued his Hollywood career. He posed a question to the audience, asking if it’s possible to love someone for a lifetime, even when disagreements arise. “Jada is the best friend I’ve ever had on this planet, and I’ll be there to support her forever.”

During the book tour, Jada even affectionately referred to him as “babe.” Earlier in the week, Will responded to the media attention around Jada’s memoir with a lighthearted Instagram post, featuring a video of him sleeping on a boat with the caption, “Notifications off :).” He also shared with The New York Times that the book had a profound impact on him.

In a recent interview with InStyle, Jada revealed that writing “Worthy” had greatly benefited their relationship. “You never stop learning about your partner,” she explained. She believes the book provided Will with an intimate insight into their lives that he might not have otherwise had, delving into generational trauma and their family history.
