Wizkid breaks own record with 1.57 million Spotify streams in a day

Award-winning singer, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has raised the bar once again with his latest track, Kese (Dance).
The song has broken records by amassing 1.57 million Spotify streams in Nigeria within just 24 hours, surpassing his own previous record.
The new achievement beats the 1.016 million streams garnered by Piece of My Heart, a collaboration with Brent Faiyaz, setting a new benchmark for Nigerian music on the streaming platform.

Globally, Kese (Dance) enjoyed an even bigger success, pulling in 2.753 million streams on Spotify on its opening day.
While Wizkid continues to set new records, his loyal fanbase, known as Wizkid FC, remains unwavering in its support, and the Essence hitmaker’s influence seems stronger than ever.
Meanwhile, singer Ruger, famous for his hit Bounce, has made an appeal to Wizkid. On Saturday, November 2024, Ruger, whose full name is Michael Adebayo Olayinka, took to his X handle to ask Wizkid to name him as the heir to his fanbase when he decides to retire from music.
In his playful message, Ruger wrote, “@wizkidayo if you ever decide to not do music again, and Zion no wan do music Slsef, pls write my name Ruger as the person to inherit your fanbase in your music will.”
While Wizkid has not responded yet, his loyal supporters are sure to stay glued to his next move.
