Ashley Garner had given up hope of ever regaining sight of her wedding band.
A few days before Hurricane Ian hit the coast of southwest Florida, she lost it in front of her Fort Myers house. She spent two days searching their yard and garage with the assistance of her husband and three young children, but the ring was nowhere to be found.

Garner stated, “I just accepted that it was gone. It was only a thing. It’s replaceable and I just let it go. We knew the hurricane was coming, so we just kind of said goodbye.”

The family stayed inside during the storm and immediately after it passed went outside to tidy up.

She said they had  been cleaning for about ten minutes, when  her husband was clearing the trees and brush right up to the garage door. She noted that he  moved over one pile of brush and trees, and “the ring was right there.”

Garner expressed her disbelief that the ring had been discovered. The severe flooding that affected several areas of the state did not occur in her neighborhood. But the area was covered in enormous piles of trees and bushes from the 150 mph gusts.

“I just sat on the curb, and I prayed to God and thanked him for providing and giving us a sign that there’s hope for the community,” Garner said.
