Hollywood Walk of Fame Pays Tribute to ‘Home Alone’ Star Macaulay Culkin
Macaulay Culkin, renowned for his memorable portrayal of Kevin McCallister in the ‘Home Alone’ movie series, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last Friday in recognition of his contributions to the film industry.
At the age of 42, Culkin proudly revealed his star on Hollywood Boulevard at 6801, surrounded by enthusiastic fans and curious onlookers. The ceremony boasted the presence of Culkin’s fiancée, Brenda Song, alongside his ‘Home Alone’ co-stars, Devin Ratray and Catherine O’Hara.
He thanked his supporters, family and producers for being great instruments that have shaped his career, as he remarked: “This moment has been a long time in the making; I’ve been in the industry since the age of four and in public’s eyes since six.”
Culkin’s star marks the 2,715th addition to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and he proudly stands as the 12th actor recognised for contributions to the iconic ‘Home Alone’ franchise.
Mr. Eazi Speaks On Why He Got Cancelled In Music Industry
The acclaimed singer and entrepreneur, Mr Eazi, recently opened up on his controversial tweet in 2017, where he claimed Ghana’s music had impacted Nigeria’s. On an episode of the Afrobeats Intelligence Podcast, he offered his insights on the backlash he got following his cancellation.
Mr Eazi, famed for tracks such as ‘Leg Over,’ affirmed his commitment to his earlier tweet, but expressed his disappointment that industry colleagues and friends publicly endorsed the cancellation instead of addressing concerns privately.
He underscored the persisting hostility, saying, “if that is the reason for your animosity, then your dislike goes beyond this issue. It’s more profound than that.”
Mr Eazi voiced his disapproval of public shaming and the absence of private conversations. He stressed the significance of tackling issues directly rather than succumbing to the prevailing crowd mentality.
Without much regard to the backlash and ‘hate’, he acknowledged: “There are people making art and nobody is caring about their lives, whether they jump or sit. It’s like they are invisible. Love and hate is acknowledgement of your existence, I’m even blessed to be able to invoke something.”
Taylor, Beyonce, Rihanna Make Forbes Most Powerful Women List
In a remarkable ascent, pop sensation, Taylor Swift, has surpassed industry titans to secure the fifth position on Forbes’ yearly list of the Most Powerful Women in the World. This extraordinary climb from 79, in 2022, to 5, stands as a historic achievement for the singer-songwriter, establishing her dominance as a culture influencer and astute businesswoman.
Swift’s remarkable rise is propelled by a record-breaking year. Her ‘Eras’ tour, a nostalgic journey through her career, raked in an astonishing $850 million, catapulting her into the exclusive ‘billionaire’s club’ with a net worth surpassing $1.1 billion. This accomplishment not only places Swift as the highest-ranked musician on the list but also distinguishes her as one of the few recording artists to attain billionaire status solely through music.
Swift’s impact extends well beyond the realm of music. She staunchly advocates for artists’ rights, notably re-recording her masters after a public dispute with her former record label. Additionally, she champions LGBTQ+ rights and social justice, utilising her platform to amplify voices from marginalised communities.
Moving beyond Swift, the Forbes list sheds light on a diverse array of women shaping the world. Beyoncé claims the No. 36 spot, recognised for her entrepreneurial ventures and continued dominance as a musical force. Rihanna ranked at No. 74, receives praise for her flourishing fashion and beauty empire, along with her philanthropic endeavours.
From CEOs and scientists to activists and artists, the 2023 Forbes list vividly portrays female leadership. It showcases the limitless potential of women and the diverse ways in which they are reshaping the landscape of power and influence.
