1,320 Bauchi schools to benefit from World Bank’s grants
No fewer than 1,320 schools in five council areas of Bauchi State have been enlisted to benefit from the 2019 school improvement project grants sponsored by the World Bank.
Governor Bala Muhammed disclosed this yesterday while presenting cheques of N500, 000 to each of the benefiting schools in Bauchi where he acknowledged that the menace of out-of-school children in the state was outrageous and vowed to improve funding for education.
He said his administration would restore the standards in primary and secondary schools in line with proposed education reforms through the provision of additional infrastructure, rehabilitation, and training of teachers.
“The present administration is redirecting the education sector to achieve desired results to harness the potential of children in public schools,” he said and restated government’s readiness to provide equal education opportunity to all children in the state.
