2019: Immigration commences new registration of immigrants
Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has said fresh registration of immigrants and expatriates would soon commence across the country ahead 2019 general elections.
Controller General of Immigration, Muhammad Babandede, said this would detect illegal residents and check attempts to infiltrate during next year’s elections.
Babandede spoke, yesterday, during the passing out parade of 639 officers, who went for conversion course at Immigration Training School, Kano.
He said the fresh exercise would expose those that have stayed beyond stipulated period or entered the country illegally.
