…Donate N50m for governor’s re-election form
In a show of political force and solidarity, the Renewed Hope Advocates yesterday inaugurated its National Executive Council at the Eliel Event Center, Gold and Base, Rayfield, Jos, amid fanfare, endorsements, and a multi-million naira donation towards Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang’s 2027 re-election bid.
The event, which drew party loyalists, stakeholders, and political heavyweights from across Nigeria’s six geo-political zones, marked a major boost for both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Mutfwang ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the ceremony, National Coordinator of the group, Barrister Mrs. Beatrice C.J. Dakas, described the day as one “we have looked forward to” and thanked God for its success.
“All the national executive members of Renewed Hope Advocates from the South, West, East, North, and Central came for this programme. Today, we unanimously endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinibu, GCFR, and Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for 2027,” Dakas declared.
She said the movement would “work from cities to grassroots” to galvanize support for both leaders, stressing that their records in office justify a second term.
According to her, in what she called a “spectacular move”, the association announced a N50 million donation to Governor Mutfwang for the purchase of his 2027 gubernatorial nomination form.
“It is because of the love we have for him. We have seen what he has achieved in the past three years. He has transformed Plateau State in so many aspects.
“For us, we cannot but get the form for him so that he will not even think of not contesting the next election. The form is already there. We want him. He is a leader with purpose — a leader that has the heart of the state and Nigeria at heart.”
She described Mutfwang as a sacrificial leader committed to delivering the dividends of democracy. “As at this moment, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang is the leader of Plateau State. We are here to support him, encourage him, advise him, and pray for him so that he will succeed.”
Dakas also made a passionate case for President Tinubu’s re-election, urging Nigerians to back continuity over uncertainty.
“I have seen the doggedness in him, the courage, and how he has tried to transform Nigeria. I am seeing the effort he is making. I see the love he has for this country and how much he wants Nigeria to be better than where it is.
“Although things are difficult, he is not relenting. He is ensuring his cabinet puts their heads together so that Nigerians will not suffer. I see the kind of courage he has, the boldness in taking policies that will help Nigerians be better,” she said.
She added, “Let’s not go for someone that will come in newly and is not sure of what vision he has for Nigeria. Let him finish the vision. Let him finish what he has started. And I know Nigeria will be better for it. Let’s give him all the support that he needs.”
Governor Mutfwang, represented by the Deputy Governor Ngo Josephine Piyo described the inauguration as “a ceremony for renewed commitment to purposeful leadership, good governance, and the collective aspiration for a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria.
“The Renewed Hope Advocate stands as a movement driven by conviction, unity, and the belief that Nigeria is on a path of transformation under President Bola Ahmed Tinibu, GCFR,” he stated.
He praised the President for “demonstrating courage in tackling long-standing challenges” and “laying the foundation for economic recovery, institutional reforms, and national stability.”
At the state level, Piyo hailed Governor Mutfwang’s “visionary leadership,” noting his dedication to “peace-building, development, and inclusive governance” which “continues to inspire hope among the people of Plateau State.”
Charging the new EXCO, Piyo said, “This is a call to service, to diligence, loyalty, and commitment to the ideals we represent. Leadership is not merely about positions. It is about responsibility, sacrifice, and impact.
“Our endorsement of President Tinibu and Governor Mutfwang is not symbolic. It is rooted in confidence, in performance, and in the shared vision for a better future for all Nigerians.”
“Let us take this message of renewed hope to every community, every ward, and every citizen. Together we can strengthen our democracy and build a nation where opportunities abound for all.”
In his comment, the Plateau North Senatorial Aspirant, Barr. Gyang Zi, SAN, commended the group’s gesture, dismissing criticism that the governor could afford his own form.
“You can see they are already helping others. They called on widows and persons with disabilities and gave them gifts. It is out of love and the passion to ensure that this state and Nigeria grow,” he said.
“By the grace of God, today it is sealed. Governor Manasseh Caleb Mutfwang is endorsed for 2027. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is also endorsed by this body. We are in full support and proud of what the governor and the president have been doing so far.”
Acknowledging existing challenges, he added, “We know there are challenges, but they are surmountable. That’s why we need to support them — without our support, they will not have the conducive environment to continue to work for us as a nation.”
On his senatorial ambition amid insecurity in Plateau, Zi was emphatic, “That is the reason why I am coming out. I am a Senior Advocate of Nigeria. Just have the assurance that by the grace of God, the solutions are here. We are going to make sure that we nip all these challenges in the bud.”
Beyond the political endorsements, the Renewed Hope Advocates also reached out to vulnerable groups, doling out cash donations to persons living with disabilities and other disadvantaged members of society.
The event ended with a call for unity and proactive engagement as the group prepares to take its message across Nigeria ahead of 2027.
