2027: Tinubu’s emergence reflects national acceptance, Ogbeide-Ihama says

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

The Edo South Senatorial District candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, has described the emergence of President Bola Tinubu as the party’s presidential flagbearer for the 2027 general election as a reflection of his broad national acceptance and enduring political influence.

Ogbeide-Ihama in a statement on Tuesday, said Tinubu’s victory at the APC presidential primary reaffirmed his position as one of the most influential political figures in the country.

President Tinubu emerged winner of the nationwide direct primary after polling 10,999,162 votes to defeat his lone challenger, Stanley Osifo, who secured 16,503 votes.

Ogbeide-Ihama described the President as “the iroko tree that provides shade for all,” noting that his leadership style, political experience and ability to build consensus had continued to strengthen the ruling party.

According to him, Tinubu’s emergence was not unexpected given his role as one of the founding pillars and major mobilisers of the APC since its formation.

“President Tinubu remains the arrowhead of progressive politics in Nigeria. His emergence is a product of hard work, resilience and years of commitment to democratic development,” he said.

Ogbeide-Ihama stated that the overwhelming support Tinubu received during the primary election demonstrated the confidence party members and stakeholders had in his leadership and vision for the country.

He further described the President as a seasoned politician with the capacity to unite people across political divides, adding that his inclusive approach to leadership had earned him admiration both within and outside the APC.

“I hail Your Excellency for once again proving that you possess the experience, courage and leadership capacity needed to move Nigeria to greater heights,” he added.
