26 varsities storm Edo for PANS national convention
No fewer than 1,200 delegates from accredited faculties/colleges of pharmacy across 26 Nigerian universities, yesterday, converged on Igbinedion University Okada (IUO), Edo State, to brainstorm on the pharmacy profession and studies.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the week-long 47th National Convention with the theme, ‘Pharmaco Governance: The Pharmacist and Politics; Play or Be Played,’ organised by Pharmaceutical Association of Nigeria Students (PANS), Vice Chancellor, IUO, Prof. Lawrence Ezemonye, tasked the students on commitment to excellence in their academics.
Ezemonye, represented by Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Raphael Adeghe, expressed optimism that the pharmacy students are key stakeholders in the future of the country, especially in delivering quality healthcare services to Nigerians, particularly as the country advocates for a better pharmacy practice, as well as better healthcare system.
“The objective of this national convention, among other things, is to promote and encourage mutual inter-relationship and interaction among pharmacy students in Nigeria.
