No fewer than 493 Police Constables of Edo and Delta States’ origin passed out from the Police Training School in Benin City, Edo State.
The 493 new recruits were among the 10,000 Police Constables of the 2022 intake, Course 3 of 2024, of the Nigeria Police recruitment.
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, stated this at the Passing-Out Parade of the personnel at the Police Training School located at Ogida, Benin City, on Thursday.
Egbetokun, represented by Arungwa Nwazue Udochukwu, the Assistant Inspector-General of Zone 5, Benin City, said the training and Passing-Out Parade of the Constables were held across four Police Colleges and 12 Police formations nationwide.
Udochukwu, in charge of Zone 5, comprising Edo and Delta States, noted that the exercise was in line with President Bola Tinubu’s promise of addressing the manpower deficit in the Nigerian Police by recruiting 30,000 policemen nationwide to check the security challenges confronting the country.
