American rapper Curtis Jackson, popularly known as 50 Cent, has stirred reactions online after sharing a controversial Easter message about the marriage of Hollywood couple Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith.

The post, shared on April 5, 2026, on his Instagram page, featured a video of Jada speaking about her relationship with her husband, alongside a caption that many social media users found provocative.

In his caption, 50 Cent wrote, “Got Damn, Father God 🙏 thank you for not letting me get into no relationship like this. HAPPY EASTER God Bless!”

In the video, Jada Pinkett Smith reflected on her personal journey in marriage, stating that she had to learn to prioritise her own happiness instead of depending on her partner.

She said, “Make yourself happy. It is not his responsibility to make you happy. He can’t. It’s impossible. But it took me forever. Hard-headed, stubborn, you know, because of that romantic idea. And that’s why I talk about checking the boxes. It’s like I did everything I was supposed to do. You get to have your dream. How come I’m not having mine? And that’s because Will was doing what he wanted to do. He was making himself happy.”

The post quickly gained traction, generating over 113,500 likes, 3,300 shares, and more than 11,000 comments within 11 hours.

While some users supported the rapper’s stance and criticised the couple’s relationship, others disagreed, arguing that Jada’s comments were valid and reflected a healthy perspective on personal responsibility in relationships.

Reacting to the post, one user, KaTrina Gorham, wrote, “Maybe I’m listening to this wrong…I heard her say “happiness starts within.” No one can make you happy but you. They can only add to your happiness. Did I get this wrong.”

Another commenter, Antoniochance, said, “Speak for yourself lady and no you didn’t do all you can do. Do busy trying to compete with your man instead of being a good woman and wife. These modern day women wasn’t thought how to be a woman, a wife and mother. The feminist movement poisoned the minds of women with the false sense of equality to man. Being treated right, with respect and be loved doesn’t comes from being equal to a man. She is right a man can’t make you happy when you dont know your role in the relationship.”
